About Us

Key Missions and Functions

(i)

The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (“Hospital”) will serve as the flagship Chinese medicine (“CM”) institution leading the development of CM including Chinese medicines (“CMs”) in Hong Kong.

(ii)

The Hospital will be a change driver, promoting service development, education and training, innovation and research.

(iii)

The Hospital will seek to promote local and world recognition of CM services and aspire to become a reference model to facilitate collaboration between Western medicine medical practitioners and CM trained practitioners in a hospital setting.

(iv)

On the provision of healthcare services, the Hospital will be an integral part of the healthcare system of Hong Kong. The Hospital will seek to offer quality CM services meeting Hong Kong’s healthcare needs with patient experience and safety being the top priorities.

(v)

On education and training, the Hospital will function as a platform for promoting basic and advanced training in CM including provision of clinic placement for CM undergraduate and post-graduate students.

(vi)

On research, the Hospital will promote the research and development of CM including CMs in Hong Kong.

(vii)

On collaboration, the Hospital will establish partnership and collaboration with relevant parties in healthcare and non-healthcare sectors both locally and internationally.

(viii)

On creating health values, the Hospital will promote the use of CM through evidence-based research and educate public in using CM services in achieving health.

(ix)

The Hospital will strive for excellence in being capable of continuous learning and improvement, attracting, retaining and developing talent, and an intelligent hospital for effective, safe, user-friendly, environment-friendly and efficient care delivery.
