Be Excellent in Competency

Design Description

In the original preface to Shanghan Zabing Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases), the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing recounts how, having witnessed the widespread outbreak of epidemic disease and the deaths of his relatives and close associates, he resolved to devote himself to the study of medicine. Through extensive and rigorous study of the classical texts, combined with clinical experience, he ultimately completed the seminal classic of Chinese medicine, Shanghan Zabing Lun. Between the lines, he emphasises that a physician must “diligently seek the ancient teachings and broadly collect the various prescriptions” in order to attain refined medical expertise.
