Design Description 

The phrase “When healthy qi is preserved within, pathogenic factors cannot invade” originates from the chapter Cifa Lun (Treatise on Needling Methods) of Suwen (Plain Questions) in Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon). It describes how some people at the time were not infected by epidemic disease, which was attributed to the sufficiency of healthy qi in resisting illness. This concept has been extended to illustrate that Chinese medicine emphasises the nurturing and protection of healthy qi to achieve prevention of disease.

This design takes a spherical form as its core, symbolising what Chinese medicine calls “healthy qi”. The internal lighting installation conveys strength and hope. Projected on both sides of the sphere, dynamic effects of rain and mist symbolise the flow and dissipation of “pathogenic qi”, creating a visual contrast between the healthy and the pathogenic. The overall structure is simple and pure, with matte acrylic chosen for its material to combine a modern feel with soft texture, fitting the tranquil atmosphere of the healthcare space and conveying a calm, protective and healing positive energy.
