Treatment Formulation
Design Description
The design centres on “lunzhi (treatment formulation)”, presenting the Eight Therapeutic Methods used in traditional Chinese medicine according to pattern identification: han (sweating), tu (emesis), xia (purgation), he (harmonising), wen (warming), qing (clearing), xiao (dispersing) and bu (tonifying). The eight characters are rendered in regular script, with the theme characters “lunzhi” in semi-cursive script, creating a visual language that blends tradition and modernity. The design maintains spatial openness whilst offering visual depth, reinforcing the Chinese medicine principle of “treating according to the pattern, with therapeutic methods adapting accordingly”. As viewers move through the space, they experience the dynamic interplay of the Eight Methods and the flexibility inherent in Chinese medicine treatment.
