Hospital Service Arrangements for Adverse Weather and Extreme Conditions
The following hospital service arrangements will be implemented during adverse weather and extreme conditions.
For Outpatient, Day Patient and Allied Health Services:
Weekdays and Saturdays (except public holidays)
- If the typhoon signal number 8 or above, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is hoisted before the commencement of service hours, services will be suspended.
- If the typhoon signal number 8, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is cancelled or lowered before 2:00 p.m., services will be resumed as soon as practicable within 2 hours.
- If the typhoon signal number 8, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is still in force after 2:00 p.m., services will be suspended for the whole day.
- If the typhoon signal number 8 or above, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is hoisted during service hours, limited services will be provided. Normal services will resume as soon as practicable within 2 hours once the signal or “extreme condition” is cancelled or lowered.
- Appointments falling within the service suspension period will be cancelled. Our staff will contact affected patients to arrange a new consultation on the next working day.
Sundays and public holidays
- If the typhoon signal number 8, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is still in force after 10:00a.m., services will be suspended for the whole day.
- If the typhoon signal number 8, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is cancelled or lowered before 10:00a.m., services will be resumed as soon as practicable within 2 hours.
- If the typhoon signal number 8 or above, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is hoisted during service hours, limited services will be provided. Normal services will resume as soon as practicable within 2 hours once the signal or “extreme condition” is cancelled or lowered.
For inpatient services: (when available)
If the typhoon signal number 8 or above, black rainstorm warning signal or “extreme condition” is hoisted, admission services and inpatient services remain as usual.
